Emma Stone Explains Why She Turned Down Ghostbusters And We Kind Of Forgive Her
The actress reveals all...
Emma Stone has finally given a (annoyingly valid) reason as to why she turned down a role in the revamped Ghostbusters.
The Birdman actress explained in an interview with WSJ. magazine that the timing simply wasn't right, despite loving what she'd read.
“The script was really funny. It just didn’t feel like the right time for me. A franchise is a big commitment—it’s a whole thing," she said.
Adding: "I think maybe I need a minute before I dive back into that water.”
As much as we are crying uncontrollably at our desk, we will always support the career of wonder woman herself Emma Stone.
While the Oscar nominee also opened up about that time she was spotted carrying a bag with on/off boyfriend Andrew Garfield's name on:
"When I picked up the bag, I was like, ‘This is kind of funny if there are any [paparazzi] out there.’ There’s probably some rebelliousness that comes out in me after all these stories and people texting you for weeks about something that, for the most part, is not true. But even when it’s false, I would rather just let it be false.”
But don't go thinking all this success has gone to her head, as she explains why she didn't prepare a speech when she was nominated for Birdman:
“Are you out of your mind? Are you actually insane? Patricia Arquette had that thing locked up!”
