The Fantastic Beasts Saga Will Extend To FIVE Movies
Celebratory butterbeers all round!
Harry Potter fans, today is YOUR day, because J.K Rowling has revealed that the Fantastic Beasts film series won’t just be a trilogy… she’s actually planning to pen five whole movies.
Celebratory butterbeers for days!
Rowling dropped the news during a Fantastic Beasts fan livestream, and revealed that Newt Scamander’s ongoing adventures will feature none other than Albus Dumbledore and legendary dark wizard, Grindlewald…
“David Yates has told you that we do talk about Dumbledore and Grindelwald in [Fantastic Beasts],” said Rowling.
“I'm not allowed to say too much, but I am allowed to say one thing! We were doing some script sessions the other day and I can tell you that we always knew it was going to be more than one movie. We knew that from the start.
“We said a trilogy as a kind of placeholder because we knew there would be more than one movie. I've now done the plotting properly and we're pretty sure it's going to be five movies! This is new material.
"There are ways in which we connect to the Potter books that I think people will find surprising. You're learning a part of magical history that's talked about in the Potter books that you never see. I'm getting a chance to tell that now.”
Pretty much the dream news for fans of the Boy who Lived and his magical entourage.
Part one of the new series will hit our screens this autumn, with Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them set to open in the UK on November 18.
