JK Rowling Has Already Written The Sequel To Fantastic Beasts
JK Rowling has already written the Fantastic Beasts sequel, with a third film also in the pipeline.
Harry Potter fans have never had it so good.
After a five year drought since Deathly Hallows pt. 2 hit our screens, there’s suddenly a whole host of new material for Pot-heads to tuck into thanks to the launch of new play The Cursed Child and spin-off movie Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.
However, it won’t be stopping there, with director David Yates revealing that JK Rowling has already written the Fantastic Beasts sequel, with a third film also in the pipeline…
“We've done the first one, she's written the second one, she's got ideas for the third one,” explained Yates.
“No one quite has ownership of them quite yet, in terms of having a relationship with the material, other than the relationship they'll have with the movie when it comes out. So it's sort of lovely in a way.”
“When we adapted the books,” he continues, “you would always have to leave out things that you hated leaving out because they didn't quite work within the structure of the storytelling for the movie or the movie would just be far too long. With this it's just pure Jo from the first page to the last page.”
Time to break out the chocolate frogs and pour ourselves a big old pint of butterbeer… it sounds like there will be wizarding antics to keep us busy for a good few years to come!
In the meantime, Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them will open in the UK on 18 November 2016.
