Attention fellow nerds! Big news coming out of Marvel today, with the studio confirming that an adaptation of The Inhumans has an official green light!

However, it isn’t going to be a movie like we first thought, but a TV show over at ABC…

The new show will chart the exploits of the Inhumans, a human-Kree hybrid race of super-powered mutants, who each have their own unique abilities.

According to the official press blurb, the plot will deal with “the never-before-told epic adventure of Black Bolt” (ruler of the Inhumans) “and the royal family”. Like The Crown, then, but with more spandex.

And for those disappointed that the Inhumans won’t get their time to shine on the big screen, there’s further good news, as the first two episodes of the new show will debut in IMAX theatres Stateside for a two-week period. Indeed, the whole show is going to be shot with IMAX cameras, so it should look pretty special…

The show is slated to make its US bow in September 2017, with a UK air date yet to be confirmed. Fingers crossed it gets the IMAX treatment over here too…
