MTV Review | Entourage
The boys are back, and they're bigger than ever.
UK Release Date: June 19
Running Time: 104 mins
Cast: Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Kevin Dillon, Jerry Ferrara, Jeremy Piven, Emily Ratajkowski
Director: Doug Ellin
Plot: Picking up just days after the TV series’ end, Entourage follows Vincent Chase (Adrian Grenier) and his trusty group of pals as he tries his hand at directing his own movie, with the help of Ari Gold (Jeremy Piven) as his agent-turned-studio-head.
Once the movie goes over its $100 million budget, things get complicated in the forms of Larsen McCredle (Billy Bob Thornton) and his son Travis (Hayley Joel Osment), Texas millionaires and Vince’s movie financiers.
There’s parties, insanely quick dialogue and an absolute ton of cameos… So basically, it’s the Entourage you know from TV just enhanced onto the big screen.
Best Scene: Hands down any one that includes the genius that is Jeremy Piven as fan favourite Ari Gold.
The scene where he’s at couples therapy with wife Melissa got the movie’s biggest laughs, for sure.
Date Movie or Mate Movie: Considering this film is all about #SquadGoals, this is 100% one to see with your best pals.
Fair warning though, you WILL try to decide which of one you is the Vinny of the group and who’s more of a Drama. Things could get ugly.
Scene Stealer: Literally any of the outrageously large number of cameos. Kelsey Grammer and Liam Neeson had some great walk-ons, but Pharrell adds some serious star power to the proceedings.
WTF Moment: Turtle decides to get into the ring with mixed martial arts champion Ronda Rousey in order to land a date. Let’s just say that goes about as well as you think it does.
Summary: If you loved Entourage as a TV show, then you won’t be disappointed with this feature length attempt, which definitely takes Vince and the gang back to the golden days of the first seasons.
But even if you weren’t an avid Entourage fan back in the day, this movie is equal parts hilarious and ridiculous – and mainly just a lot of fun.
