Sarah Jessica Parker has apologised to 'Sex And The City' fans for getting them all excited about a possible third movie… only to pour cold water on the reports a few hours later!

Only yesterday (May 12) we were dreaming of SJP reprising her character Carrie Bradshaw for another round of Cosmopolitans with Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon after Parker posted a cryptic snap of herself carrying a Bloomingdales bag.

She captioned the pic: “Well. I guess the cat's out of the (little brown) bag.

"As usual, we will keep you posted on every detail as we are able. I'm under strict gag order until then. Xx, Sj.”

While many of us thought that cat was SATC3, Sarah returned to Instagram to set the record straight… instead revealing her SJP shoe collection would be hitting Bloomingdales in NYC.

Sharing an image of herself standingon the roof of the iconic store, the 50-year old wrote: “Pinch me, I'm dreaming. After months and months of sworn secrecy, I can finally shout the news from the rooftop.

“Or even better, from the iconic @bloomingdales awning. Welcome to New York, @sjpcollection. You're going to love it here. Finally, a permanent home in NYC.”

She added: “Ps. Forgive me for any previous misunderstandings. Twenty lashes with a wet noodle. Yours forever, Sj x.”

However, the mystery continues as SJP has since deleted the post… Maybe we’ll hold off on the wet noodle treatment for now!
