Don't get too carried away with the possibilities for the next incarnation of Spider-Man on the big screen, because it looks like Marvel has got the iconic superhero's image locked down tighter than a Kardashian pre-nup.

The latest revelation to come out of the infamous Sony email hacking is that Marvel has given some pretty strict stipulations about how Spidey is to be portrayed on the big screen.

And these include that he can't be gay and can't be a person of colour!

Dating from 2011, the contract states that the "proper" portrayal of Spider-Man must be male, will not have sex before the age of 16, will not be a homosexual and must be Caucasian (white).

According to E! News, the contract apparently came into effect just before the comic book version of Spider-Man saw Peter Parker replaced by a black-latino character.

Hmmm.
