Vin Diesel Announces Release Date For Furious 8
The crew will be riding again soon.
‘Furious 7’ may still be dominating box offices around the world, but the Fast Family are already planning ahead for the next film.
Now, Vin Diesel has revealed that ‘Furious 8’ already has a release date – and that date is April 14, 2017.
The star was appearing at Las Vegas CinemaCon on Thursday (23 April) when he unveiled the insanely exciting news that the Furious franchise would be carrying on after the emotional seventh installment, which paid tribute to Paul Walker.
Considering ‘Furious 7’ is such a colossal hit, having grossed more than $1 BILLION dollars worldwide, it’s can’t be too much of a surprise that the next sequel is in the works, but to have an actual release date already is pretty amazing.
When announcing the news in Vegas, Vin also acknowledged his ‘brother upstairs’ Paul Walker, and apparently thanked the CinemaCon crowd for making ‘Furious 7’ such an unprecedented hit.
Earlier this month, Vin spoke about his ideas for the next movie, saying: "I always think of these films [as] multiple pictures at a time.
“Kurt Russell came in for this movie [as black ops leader Mr Nobody]… but we really hired him for a story that follows this, that takes place in New York."
Anyone else got April 14, 2017 pencilled into their diaries already? Only 700 or so days to go!
