War For The Planet Of The Apes has dropped a chilly first teaser trailer in which Caesar, simian badass and leader of the ape uprising, predicts grim times ahead. Basically, the Ape-ocalypse is coming #SorryNotSorry

The last film saw relations break down between humans and apes, to the point where all-out war looked inevitable, and it doesn’t seem like things have improved much in the interim.

“I’m sorry,” says Caesar, in this first brief clip. “War has begun.”

According to the official blurb, the new film will see Caesar going toe-to-toe with a “ruthless colonel”, leading an army of human soldiers intent on taking back the planet. He’ll be played by Woody Harrelson, which should make for a suitably intense showdown between man and ape!

Directed by Matt Reeves and co-starring Andy Serkis, Judy Greer and Steve Zahn, War For The Planet Of The Apes will open in the UK on 14 July 2017.
