Adam Lambert has paid homage to late Queen singer Freddie Mercury, claiming that he was 'was completely over the top in the best possible way.'

The American Idol runner-up, who auditioned with Queen's hit single Bohemian Rhapsody for a place on the US TV show and collaborated with the remaining members in the 2009 series finale also claimed that Mercury's spirit is 'alive and well.'
Speaking to NPR's Morning Edition about the singing legend, Lambert paid tribute to Freddie stating: "Freddie's voice has so much texture to it. It’s supersexy. He kind of grabs at everything, he squeezes it."

"He was completely over the top in the best possible way. Music, most of the time, is about sexuality. Whether you are straight, gay or in between. It's about love and sex. That's rock 'n' roll."
The If I Had You singer added: “The spirit of Freddie Mercury is alive and well. He made it rock."
