Tim Burton has reportedly agreed to direct a 3D stop-motion film based on the
Addams Family cartoons.
According to
Deadline, the
Alice In Wonderland director will draw inspiration for the movie from
Charles Addams's original New Yorker drawings as well as the hit 1960's TV show and the 90's movie starring
Anjelica Houston.
Burton, who has previously directed other stop-motion films such as The Nightmare Before Christmas and Corpse Bride is expected to put his own unique take on the classic in the near future.
The legendary director is also said to be working on a feature-length version of his 1984 short film Frankenweenie.
His current film, Alice In Wonderland starring wife Helena Bonham Carter and Johnny Depp is still sitting pretty at the top of the UK Box Office, holding off competition from Leonardo Dicaprio's new film Shutter Island.
