Alphabeat have told MTV News about the new dance direction on their forthcoming second album and single.

 

We spoke to lead singers with the Danish group Anders SG- there are three Anders in the group- and Stine.

 

Asked about new single The Spell Anders revealed: “It’s a very danceable song and it references the early 90s house piano that they used in Black Box and Snap!

 

“We’ve been listening a lot to music from that period of time because we think there were loads of really good songs around that early, like, ’91 and ’92.”

Stine added that their second album- of the same name- will follow a similar pattern.

 

She told MTV News Alphabeat were inspired by living in the UK: “The slight change in the sound is something that happened quite naturally. We moved to London two years ago and we’ve been playing a lot of gigs.

 

“We felt that the more dancey sound was, for us, better live and for the audience as well.”

 

She added: “We just feel really proud of the album we’ve made, so we just can’t wait to see how people react.”

 

The group tour later this month.
