Amanda Holden's hubby Chris Hughes has thanked doctors for saving her life.
As we previously reported, the Britain's Got Talent judge almost died after giving birth to her second daughter Hollie Rose on Monday (23rd January) and was in a 'critical condition' after bleeding heavily and collapsing after having a C-section.
According to The Mirror, the 40-year old - who is said to have fought for her life for three days - is still very weak after needing multiple blood transfusions, with medics expecting her to spend more time in hospital.
Holden's emotional hubby Chris has since issued a statement thanking the hospital for saving Amanda, saying: "I would like to thank all the medical staff and everyone who has been involved in Amanda’s care. They have all been absolutely fantastic.”
A friend of the couple also told the newspaper: "Amanda is recovering slowly but surely. She has had a traumatic experience, but she is relieved Hollie Rose is healthy.
“Chris has barely slept this week at all and has been at her side every step of the way. It is only now Amanda is on the mend we can all finally breathe again. Amanda is not by any means 100%, but she is stable now and will pull through.
“It has been a very emotional time but the couple agree that Hollie Rose has made it all worthwhile.”
It is thought that BGT bosses have started looking for a short-term replacement for Holden to join Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams on the panel.
A show source explained to The Mirror: "We always had planned bringing in some special guest judges for when Amanda went off to have the baby.
“We are sticking to three judges when we go to Cardiff at the weekend but we would like someone in the fourth seat by the time we film in London on February 6."
They added: “Amanda knows she is welcome back but the show must go on and we need another judge as soon as possible.”
