US radio host Howard Stern has said he’s in talks to replace Simon Cowell as a judge on American Idol.
The controversial star claims Fox have approached him about the job after Cowell himself recommended him.
He told listeners: “There's not a better job on the planet than judging a f***ing karaoke contest. It might be possible, we'll see.”
Stern’s massive $100 million a year radio contract finishes in January 2011 and reports claim AI producers could match the fee.
Howard commented: “$100 million to judge a karaoke contest? Yeah, I think I would do that show for $100 million.
“It would be the best thing that happened to me. What a cush job: $100 million for four months. Who wouldn't take that?"
And appealing directly for the job he added: “If I do say so myself, I can't imagine anyone else but me replacing Simon.”
