Ellen Leaves American Idol
After just one season as a judge…

Ellen Degeneres is the latest judge to leave the American Idol panel.
The chatshow host only joined the show for the last season after Paula Abdul left.
In a statement she said: “I loved discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings.
“A couple months ago, I let Fox and the American Idol producers know that this didn't feel like the right fit for me.”
Simon Cowell also quit the show last year to spearhead his own X Factor franchise in the US.
That leaves Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on the panel, although there are rumours that AI could bring in a whole new set of judges.
So far Jennifer Lopez, Justin Timberlake, Elton John and Harry Connick Jr have all been rumoured to replace Simon or Ellen.
