The model and reality TV star is found unconscious in her hotel room...

Anna Nicole Smith has died aged 39.

Smith was found unconscious in her hotel room at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood by her private nurse, who tried to resuscitate her along with her bodyguard and paramedics. She was then rushed to hospital where doctors pronounced her dead.

Her lawyer Ron Rale told gathered media: "Anna has passed away. This is a terrible tragedy."

A post-mortem examination will be carried out to establish the cause of her death.

Smith, a former Playboy playmate, jeans model, reality TV star and widow of an octogenarian oil tycoon, was in the middle of a paternity battle over her 5-month-old daughter Dannielynn.

She was also said to be still coming to terms with the death of her son who passed away last year.
