Arcade Fire Make Live Return In London

As they warm up for Oxegen …

Arcade Fire made their comeback last night in London debuting songs from their new album The Suburbs.
 
The Canadian indie gods used the show to warm up for their headline appearance at Oxegen Festival in Ireland this weekend.
 
Later this summer they also top the bill at the Reading and Leeds festivals.
 
Last night at the Hackney Empire in East London they played eight new songs including singles Month Of May and The Suburbs.
 
The18 track set also included classics like No Cars Go, Rebellion (Lies), and Neighbourhood #3 (Power Out).
 
Reviews of the gig have been posistive. The Telegraph gave the show four stars and said the new material is “tailor-made for mass consumption.”
 
The Guardian’s Alexis Petridis awarded the group five stars and said tracks from their third disc “sound amazing” and are “a genuine progression from Neon Bible.”
