Twilight's Ashley Greene & Joe Jonas 'Almost Arrested'

The couple were stopped for having knives at an airport in Abu Dhabi...

Twilight actress Ashley Greene and her boyfriend Joe Jonas narrowly escaped arrest at an airport in Abu Dhabi after security discovered knives on their possession.

Greene and the Jonas Brothers singer, who have been dating for four months, were stopped by security after Jonas accidentally put some new cheese knives in their hand-luggage.

Ashley, who plays Robert Pattinson's sister, Alice Cullen in the Twilight flicks, has since explained what happened to US talk show host, George Lopez, stating: "We were going from the Middle East to New York, so there was tons of security, tons of screenings."

"We got through one, surprisingly enough. The second one we got to and they stopped and looked at us with these really stern faces. They were like, 'What's in your bag?' I look at Joe and there are these flashbacks of this knife set we got."

She continued: "They were cheese cutting knives. I look at Joe and I'm like, 'Did you leave the knives in the bag?' He's like, 'Whoopsies.' Whoopsies doesn't cut it. We were going to get arrested!"

After telling security their mistake, the couple were then allowed to proceed to New York, with Ashley confessing to Lopez: "It was embarrassing."

The pair have also recently hit the headlines in the past month after Joe's ex-girlfriend, Demi Lovato, entered rehab to be treated for "physical and emotional issues", rumoured to have been caused by Jonas' new relationship with Ashley.
