Batman takes five prizes at the Peoples Choice ceremony in LA

The Dark Knight has won five prizes at the People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles.

The Batman blockbuster won in all the categories it was nominated in, including Best Movie and Best Superhero.

The caped-crusader himself Christian Bale was at the ceremony to collect the statues. He told the audience: On behalf of all of the cast, thank you very much to the fans Here's to Heath."

The Peoples Choice Awards are voted for online by fans and are given in TV, music and film categories. Also winning gongs were Adam Sandler, Robin Williams, Hugh Laurie, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt.
