Bestival 2007 kicked off on the Isle Of Wight in a typically crazy fashion.

With many of the 30,000 revellers in costume and there barely a cloud in the sky, Friday was a superb start to the fun.

MTV News caught new band Palladium on the BBC Introducing stage to start our festival. The group, signed to Virgin, impressed with ridiculously strong guitars, Keys and, well, just about everything else.

They're so 80s influenced there's even a smattering of Genesis-like hooks to their quirky indie sound. It's well worth looking out for this four-piece in the future.

Next up was Barry Peters, Hospital Radio Halifax's Top DJ- and another hilarious guise of The Cuban Brothers. With dancers Double Penetration joining the roadshow fun they got the mainstage going for the first time this weekend.

When they play Faith, Don't Stop Me Now, Reef's Put Your Hands Up AND Club Tropicana it's hard to resist.

Next up in the large field were The Go! Team who's overriden guitars and double drums sounded insane. Frontwoman MC Ninja is sassy and energetic, infact if she teamed up with M.I.A's producers she'd be as big as any female rapper around.

The Chemical Brothers headlined and were much better than at Glastonbury where the pouring rain didn't help! Playing Galvanise, Star Guitar and recent single Do It Again the huge crowd get raving from the start.

The duo have a dazzling lights and lazer show at the moment which can't fail to mesmerise the dance legend's fans. Unfortunately The Salmon Dance didn't feature but the Block Rockin' Beats encore more than compensated.

Playing at Rob Da Bank's festival Saturday are Spank Rock, Candie Payne, Simian Mobile Disco, Robyn, Rumble Strips, Erol Alkan and the rather amazing Beastie Boys.

Fancy Dress will also feature with it pretty much compulsory today and a huge parade taking place at 3pm. Prizes will also be awarded in the moustache contest. Check back on MTV.co.uk for more news and reviews all weekend.
