Beyoncé has broken her silence over the leak of her forthcoming album, 4, stating that the LP hitting the web early was not how she "wanted to present " her new songs.

As we previously reported, the former Destiny's Child star's fourth studio LP emerged on the web in it's entirety on Tuesday - three weeks ahead of it's planned release on 27th June.

Now, in a statement obtained by our US Team, Queen B has responded to the unfortunate leak of 4, claiming that she "appreciates" the positive response the record has received.

The 29-year old diva said: "My music was leaked and while this is not how I wanted to present my new songs, I appreciate the positive response from my fans,"

"When I record music I always think about my fans singing every note and dancing to every beat. I make music to make people happy and I appreciate that everyone has been so anxious to hear my new songs."

It is thought that Bey's legal team has threatened action against blogs who do not remove links to the leaked LP, while some continue to post the unauthorised clips to Twitter, making it harder for the label to track down the music.
