The band are Simon Neil (vocals, guitar, piano) and brothers James (vocals, bass) and Ben Johnston (vocals, drums), and they allegedly took their unusual name after a mishearing of the phrase Cliff Richard biro " although the band have cited other reasons in interviews. The tricky buggers.
They formed in Kilmarnock back in 1995 when Simon and Ben were school friends, and initially called themselves Screwfish. By 1997 they had relocated to Glasgow and had a growing fanbase thanks to gigs at clubs around the city. Their debut album, Blackened Sky, landed in 2002 and just a year later they followed it up with The Vertigo Of Bliss " which the band claim they recorded in just a day.

Now signed to 14th Floor Records, the bands fourth album, Puzzle, is currently slated for a May release. In the meantime weve got the online exclusive on their new video, Saturday Superhouse (out on March 5). To watch it click here...
