EXCLUSIVE | He says Jive don’t want him and Andre 3000 to work together…

Big Boi has told MTV News that Jive Records are preventing him and his OutKast partner Andre 3000 from working together.

The Atlanta rapper left the label and joined Def Jam to release his delayed solo album Sir Luscious Left Foot and the Son Of Chico Dusty.

Asked if he’ll work with Andre again he said: “What we’re doing now is just trying to keep it all together cause right now Jive records is trying to make it so that me and Andre can’t make records together anymore. Because…. I don’t know why. It’s crazy!”

He continued: “It was important for me to get a beat from him you know that’s my partner. We recorded a couple of songs you know (for Sir Lucsious), Royal Flush being one of them then we got another song called Lookin For Ya, that was produced by Boi 1da.”

However since MTV spoke to the Outkast man a tracklisting for the album has been released showing that neither of the songs appear on the solo LP. A message on Big Boi’s Twitter said: “Jive Records is trying to block 3 Stacks from being on the album. Boi Stop!!!!”

Royal Flush was released back in 2008 while Lookin For Ya has leaked online this week.

Speaking about the delay in releasing the disc Big explained: “The album was delayed because of the label and that’s why it took so long for it to come out. I wanted to be able to have the creative freedom that we usually have when we make records.

“So I was on Jive records, now I’m on Def Jam with L.A Reid the guy who started Outkast’s career. I feel real good man, the music is being received well and I just want to say thanks to Jive records for letting me go!”
