Bloc Party Announce Album

Their third LP will be out on August 21

Bloc Party will release their new album Intimacy on August 21 - in a shock move.

Fans can download 10 tracks from tomorrow through the bands website- including single Mercury.

The full CD- with extra tracks- will then be available from October 27. When pre-ordering the disc you will automatically get the digital tracks for free.

Bloc Party announced the unexpected news via a webchat with their fans.

Intimacy has been produced by Jacknife Lee and Paul Epworth- who have both worked on the bands previous two records.

It follows similar moves by Radiohead and Coldplay who also announced last minute downloads.
