Blur last night closed the 2009 Glastonbury festival with a mind-blowing set showcasing the many hits of their career.

The reformed band topped the bill at the infamous Pyramid Stage on the final night of the three day festival.

The set kicked off with their first single She’s So High as frontman Albarn shouted: “Wow, there’s a lot of people here!” as he was faced with one of the weekend’s biggest and nosiest crowds.

The Brit Pop legends played a series of hit singles including Girls And Boys, Tender and the number 1 hit Country House, which drew an especially loud response from the crowd.

Albarn declared during the performance: “I came here yesterday really early in the morning, it seems like there's a positive atmosphere

He added: "That's what I want to say about something else, let's keep it positive!"

Blur were joined on stage by many extra musicians including brass and backing singers who enhanced thirteen of the tracks including Trimm Trabb and Tender.

"I'm enjoying this," stated Albarn midway through the set. "Thank you!"

Eastenders actor Phil Daniels also joined the band on stage to perform the well known hit Parklife as the group finished their main set.

Damon and his bandmates returned as Albarn exclaimed: "I'm pleased we decided to do these gigs now," before launching into Advert and Song 2.

The crowds were then left to sing Tender before Blur returned to the stage once again as Albarn declared: "This is the fourth time we've played here, It's really, really fantastic!"

Blur ended their set and the festival on a high with an epic version of The Universal which had the whole of the festival fields singing along.

Albarn and the rest of the band left the stage for the final time bringing Glastonbury festival 2009 to a close.

The band has also announced they are to team up with Live Here Now to release both their upcoming dates at Hyde Park as limited edition CDs and exclusive downloads.
