Blur have released their new one-off single as a free download for fans, and you can get it right now just by clicking www.blur.co.uk

The track is called Fool’s Day, and is the first new material recorded by the reformed foursome since 2003.

The band released the track as a highly limited edition 7” single to support Record Store Day last Saturday.

And after the vinyl sold out the group stuck the track on their website blur.co.uk, and have made it downloadable as a free mp3 or high quality .WAV file.

Manager Chris Morrison says:

“To avoid fans having to illegally obtain an inferior copy of this track from pirate sites – we have made it freely available through the band’s website.”

Fool’s Day - recorded earlier this month- harks back to Blur’s Britpop classic Parklife in its themes.

The understated song features typically English lyrics from Damon Albarn referencing Woolworths, porridge, Ladbroke Grove and civil war.

Albarn recently released the third Gorillaz album Plastic Beach and plays live shows in London with the group later this month.

Fans will be able to watch a live webstream of the April 30 gig featuring video animation, artwork and film at http://gorillaz.mtv.com on 30th April.
