MTV's Brand New: For 2011 Acts Announced!

MTV is pleased to announced the shortlist for this year's BlackBerry Presents MTV Brand New: For 2011 - a whole hoard of emerging musical talent who we are tipping for the top in 2011.

After Justin Bieber was crowned the winner of Brand New last year, 2011's list consists of a wide range of artists from all genres of music who will all be hoping to equal Bieber's success by being named our new champ.

The list includes indie band The Vaccines, hip-hop-electro-pop mash-up act Far East Movement, singer-song writer Jessie J, grime MC Wretch 32, pop/R&B trio Ruff Diamondz, Nashville based band Mona, dub-step artist Jamie Woon, songwriter and producer Labrinth, singer-song writer Clare Maguire and pop’s youngest starlet Willow Smith.

You'll be able to have your say by voting for your favourite artist on www.mtv.co.uk/brandnew from Tuesday 4th January. Voting will close on Monday 1st February when MTV will reveal who has come out on top.

To celebrate the launch of BlackBerry Presents MTV Brand New For 2011, we are throwing two gigs at Camden's KoKo on Tuesday 25th & Wednesday 26th January, where two of our nominees will play on each night.

Jessie J and Ruff Diamondz will take to the stage on the 25th, while Mona and Clare Maguire are set to hit KoKo on the 26th, where they will be supporting a surprise headline act, set to be announced in January.

After last year's finalist Tinie Tempah and 10 for 11 contenders Wretch 32 and Labrinth took KoKo by storm for the launch night, you will not want to miss out on these gigs!
