Britney Spears’ UK dates kicked off last night at the O2 Arena in London last night with the star saying to the crowd: “What's up, London? I'm so happy to be here.”

The popster is at the venue for eight nights with her lavish Circus tour before moving onto Manchester, Dublin and the rest of Europe.

The show- which has already been around the US- includes numerous costume changes, acrobats and even a dwarf.

Britney has been criticised by some for miming the songs in the show- which include Piece Of Me, Toxic, Womanizer and Baby One More Time.

First night reviews of the UK show have been mixed. The Telegraph’s critic said she “abandons even the pretence of playing live” but called Circus “the most perfectly plastic pop show ever staged.”

The Sun said praised the choreography, dancers and set but said Britney was “A girl walking around, flicking her hair to some average pop songs.”
