Britney Spears' fiancé and former manager, Jason Trawick, has reportedly applied to become co-conservator of the singer's affairs.
Since her shaven-headed meltdown of 2008, Britney's father has had conservatorship of his daughter, enabling him to make decisions concerning her finances, healthcare and general wellbeing.
But according to People magazine, dad Jamie Spears is asking the court to add Trawick, who popped the question in December last year, as a co-conservator.
The move has prompted speculation that the couple may be about to wed.
LA probate attorney Jeffrey S Cohen, who is not involved in the case, told the publication: "This is a very unusual situation, because generally you don't see conservatees get married.
"This could be a sign that the couple's wedding is around the corner."
During a conservatorship hearing last month, LA Judge Reva Goetz said she had been "impressed" with Britney's progress and the singer is currently said to be petitioning to have the measure removed.
