Calvin Harris has knocked Lady Gaga and her Pokerface off the top of the UK singles chart with his retro dance track – I’m Not Alone.
Speaking to MTV News, the Scottish producer told us he wanted to write a track that would “go off at the festivals,” and that he feels the track is “an all round package as far as a dance record goes”
Calvin revealed he has been enjoying the critical acclaim the single has received admitting: “I never really got that before with the old stuff, but I think the Dizzee [Rascal] record changed things for me.”
“It’s new that people across the board really like it, I haven’t had too many people slagging me off this time- it’s superb!”
La Roux will also be celebrating this week after her single In For The Kill climbed to number 4 – beating off stiff competition from Ciara Ft Justin Timberlake with Love Sex Magic.
In the albums chart, Lady Gaga has managed to hold onto her number one spot – closely followed by Brit rockers, Doves – who went straight in at number 2 with Kingdom Of Rust
It was also a good week for Bat For Lashes, who saw her 2nd album – Two Suns – debut at number five.
