But Girls Aloud will return...

It’s been confirmed that Cheryl Cole has started working on solo material- after months of speculation.
The Girls Aloud member has leapfrogged the other members in the fame stakes after becoming a judge on X Factor. Last week she was crowned the World’s Sexiest Female by FHM magazine.
Now Cole (and her record label) are keen to cash in and have approached a slew of producers to work on her solo album- likely to be released next year.
Girls Aloud are taking a break to pursue solo projects after completing their UK tour and promo for recent album Out Of Control.
According to a statement the other members will work on a range of projects in “music to acting to beauty to fashion.” Sarah Harding is set to star in a new BBC2 TV show.
However Girls Aloud signed a new three album record deal in February so are highly unlikely to split. The first of those records is scheduled for release in Autumn 2010.
