Cowell: "It's Cheryl Tweedy Now, Isn't It?"

Simon has introduced Chez as Tweedy at London's X Factor auditions...

Simon Cowell has sparked speculation that Cheryl Cole will return to her maiden name after introducing her as Cheryl Tweedy at yesterday's X Factor auditions.

The Mirror reports that the music mogul shocked audience members at London's ExCel Centre by referring to the Girls Aloud star as Cheryl Tweedy suggesting that Chez has ditched her married name.

Cowell said: "Who would like to hear from Cheryl... Tweedy? It is, now, isn't it?"

The crowd were said to be excited by the comment and rose from their seats to applaud the 3 Words singer.

An eyewitness claimed: "The support for her was immense. When Simon announced her as Cheryl Tweedy the whole place went up."

The source added: "Cheryl was beaming. It was as if a new chapter in her life had just started and she looked happier than ever."

Cheryl, who filed for divorce from cheating Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole last month is now allegedly dating dancer Derek Hough after the pair enjoyed a 'romantic break' to Tanzania together.

The Fight For This Love star has reportedly been explaining football to the American dancer, passing on her footy knowledge she learnt from Ashely.

According to The Sun, she has been watching the World Cup on her mobile between X Factor auditions and has left Derek 'totally confused' with her football lingo.

A pal of Chez revealed: "Cheryl's talking about team selection and the manager's decisions - but he just looks at her with a puzzled expression."
