Jedward 'Joke About Cheryl Cole's Funeral'

After being told about Chezza's battle with malaria...

Jedward may have gone a step too far after joking that Cheryl Cole would have 'a big funeral' if she passed away after being struck with the deadly disease malaria.

The twins, who first met the Fight For This Love singer during their stint on last year's X Factor made the comment during an interview with The Mirror after they were informed by the reporter that Chezza had been taken ill with the mosquito-carried illness.

When told of the Girls Aloud star's condition, John Grimes claimed: "We’d better call her. It’s kind of crazy."

His brother Edward, who recently tore his knee ligaments after falling on stage at last weekend's T4 on the Beach then added: "I'm like Cheryl's twin because I hurt myself. She hurt herself…"

He stupidly joked: "Two great people hurting themselves… It’s going to be a big funeral. Just messing."

A spokesperson for John & Edward has since stated: "The boys would never mean any offence to anyone. It was an ill-judged quip that was never meant to cause any offence.

They added: "Cheryl has been so good to them and I know they’re sending all their thoughts and sympathies to her."

Meanwhile, as we reported this morning Cole's condition currently shows 'no sign of improving' after the singer was transferred to intensive care last night as sources claimed her illness was 'worse than they first thought.'
