Cheryl Cole is recovering well from malaria and could return to X Factor this week for a one-off interview.
Although the star still has a long way to go to be fully recovered, reports state she has been speaking to X Factor bosses about a one-off interview and is keen to make it work. The interview, conducted by Xtra Factor host Konnie Huq, would take place at Cheryl’s home in Surrey, reports the News of the World.
A friend told the paper the star is feeling much better. “Cheryl is a fighter and this has been the fight of her life. She’s put all her energy into getting better and it looks like it’s paid off. The fact she’s cracking jokes again is a wonderful sign that the feisty old Cheryl is returning. Simon has told her he can’t wait to have her back on board.”
In other Cheryl news, the Fight For This Love singer is understandably keen to raise money to fight malaria and plans to front a charity with her Girls Aloud bandmate Kimberley Walsh.
“Cheryl wants to raise money for mosquito nets and better medicines across the worst-affected regions of Africa,” a friend revealed. “After hitting such a terrible physical low, she has come to realise just how awful the disease is and how lucky she has been to receive the best medical care.”
This wouldn’t be the first time Cheryl has done her bit for charity – she and Kimberley climbed Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief in 2009 in a celebrity group led by Gary Barlow.
