Cheryl To Star In Desperate Housewives?

That's not the only show the in-demand star is considering...

Cheryl Cole is in the running for a role on top US show Desperate Housewives.

One of the show’s biggest stars, Teri Hatcher, told News of the World she is pushing producers to hire the Geordie singer. 

"Cheryl is a great role model and exactly the sort of woman we would love to have a role on Desperate Housewives,” Teri said. "Season seven is going to be a really great series and if she is fit enough I think it would be great to have her in a guest role for two or three episodes. With her looks she could cause some real trouble in Wisteria Lane.

“I am sure she would raise a few eyebrows from the residents there but in real life I hear she is an absolute darling and I think we would all get on so well,” the actress said. “I am going to speak to the producer and get her involved if she wants, we would have great fun.”

Cheryl has also been approached to appear in Dancing With The Stars, the US version of Strictly Come Dancing. The singer is intrigued because it means she could team up with close friend Derek Hough, a regular dancer on the show and her partner in her sexy Parachute video.

Both Desperate Housewives and Dancing With The Stars offer massive exposure to the US market for Cheryl – both shows regularly exceed 20 million viewers – so this could be a big step towards her dream of cracking America.
