Cheryl Cole and Derek Hough ARE a couple, according Chezza's X Factor co-star Brian Friedman.

After weeks of speculation, show choreographer Friedman lifted the lid on the most rumoured showbiz romance since Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, telling the mirror.co.uk that they are 'very cute' together.

Friedman, who has visited the pair in Los Angeles revealed: "I'm very close to them both. They're amazing people and make a great couple."

"I thought they would make a good couple and I'm so pleased to say they do. They're very, very cute together."

He added: "Cheryl and Derek both seem incredibly happy right now, that's all I can say."

It is the first time that a friend of the 3 Words singer has commented on her new relationship with Hough, after Derek's step-dad Aaron Nelson previously claimed that the dancer was in love with Chez. 

As we reported yesterday, Cheryl has fuelled rumours that she is indeed dating Derek by meeting his close family in LA.

It has now emerged that the Dancing With The Stars ace HAS moved into Cheryl's Surrey home that she once shared with cheating hubby Ashley Cole, after the footballer collected the rest of his belongings.

A source confessed to Grazia magazine: “Cheryl is finally moving on and decided it was time Ashley came to collect his last few bits and pieces from the house. After everything she’s been through, she’s in no mood for recriminations, so they actually had a very relaxed chat when Ashley dropped round."

"He was very sad because, as he pointed out, it was the end of an era, but he’s accepted that his time is up and Derek is the new force in Cheryl’s life. Even so, it came as a surprise that she moved Derek in so fast – people have been joking that she should have revolving doors installed."

They added: "Life-threatening illnesses have a funny way of concentrating the mind, though, and Cheryl doesn’t care what others think any more. Derek has been an amazing support for her through the heartbreak of splitting with Ashley and then her illness. These days he’s almost as important in her life as her mum – and that’s saying something – so she simply doesn’t want to be without him."
