Cheryl Cole's war of words with The X Factor contestant, Wagner Carrilho, reached boiling point last night, when the Brazilian crooner allegedly tried to barge into Cole's dressing room while she was getting changed.

As we previously reported, Carrilho slammed the Girls Aloud star, telling a journalist that she was "just a girl from a council estate who got lucky" , prompting Chezza to hit back at Wagner live on Saturday's show.

After the 51-year old finished his The Beatles medley, the Geordie judge refused to give Wagner any constructive criticism, telling him: "This week you made some comments in the press about me coming from a council estate."

She continued: "I am very proud of my roots. If I was to give you any advice, it would be to say don’t focus on how lucky I am to be here, focus on how lucky you are to be here."

Wagner then told Cheryl "not to believe the press" and that his words were taken out of context and that he thinks she is "talented and beautiful" and a "role model."

However, despite Wagner's best efforts, the Promise This singer has refused to apologised for her on-air clash with Carrilho, telling pals that she felt like she had to put him in his place.

According to The Mirror, the 27-year old told a friend: "I don't care what people think. I had to answer back. There's nothing wrong with being from a council estate."

"He used the term in such a negative way. I had to say something to him because I am not ashamed of my roots."

"I don't care what people think, I had to answer back. I still have friends where I grew up and go back there. I did get lucky, but Wagner should know how lucky he is too."

Wagner, who survived yet another public vote last night, then allegedly tried to barge into Cheryl's dressing room but the door was locked as Chezza was changing.

Carrilho's failed attempted to apologise to Cheryl sees the pair still not speaking, with an insider close to Cole, telling the tabloid: "She feels Wagner used the term 'to grow up on a council estate' as a derogatory thing."

"It was like he was saying, 'You can't do well if you are from a council estate', which is absolute rubbish."

A production source also added that Simon Cowell wasn't happy with Cheryl's outburst, stating: "Simon has made it clear he doesn't think the judges should be attacking the contestants on the show in a personal way."

"You are supposed to comment on the performance and the singing, so he didn't like that Cheryl got personal. Things were tense after the show, Simon wasn't happy and let her know."
