Cheryl Cole's representatives have confirmed that the gorgeous Geordie has launched legal action against the publishers of Now magazine after MC Harvey's claims they had a 'secret relationship.'
The Girls Aloud singer has strongly denied Harvey's accusations that they became close following her divorce from Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole, previously asking the rapper on Twitter: "Was this 'relationship' happening in your head @harveyofficial?! Are you smoking something?"
The 28-year old added: "I think I've met you once maybe twice at public events and With your wife!! #s**tjustgetsweirder"
Despite the So Solid Crew star claiming to have evidence to prove he was involved with Cole, Harvey clarified his comments about Chezza during an interview with Choice FM, where he stated they had more of a "communication relationship", adding that he's "never been" with Cheryl.
Cheryl's reps have since issued a statement regarding the suggestion that she was seeking legal action, saying: "Cheryl Cole has today commenced legal proceedings in London against the publishers of Now magazine as a result of its two articles about her alleged "secret romance" with Michael Harvey.
"Cheryl's lawyers have asked to see Mr Harvey's alleged e-mails which the magazine says are "proof" of the "romance" but it claims not to have them in its possession."
The statement concluded: "Mr Harvey's claims are denied by Cheryl and she looks forward to seeing both him and the magazine in Court at the very earliest opportunity."
Now magazine has continued to stand by its article with Harvey, with Tim Parish - who is the publication's legal advisor and media lawyer - recently claiming to have seen the emails, stating: "I concluded that the messages were real, had not been doctored in any way and confirm he was in a romantic relationship with the sender."
