Cheryl Cole has apparently recorded a song written by newcomer Lana Del Rey for her eagerly anticipated third solo album.
According to The Sun, the Girls Aloud singer is a huge fan of Del Rey, with the pair reportedly teaming up to produce a No.1 hit song for Chezza's new record.
A source told the newspaper: "Cheryl is a big fan of Lana and was intrigued to hear she had lots of songs written which she wasn't going to sing herself.
"She got hold of one and was really taken with it. The record label are pretty happy about it because Lana has a massive following."
The previously unheard track selected by Cole has been described as an "urban, mid-tempo ballad" and is likely to be one of the first singles to be released from the 28-year old's new LP.
As well as her hook-up with Lana, Cheryl is also thought to have worked with hitmaker Calvin Harris on a track, with The Sunday Mirror stating it's a "dance classic", with Chezza's team hoping the song will help launch her career "globally."
An insider told the tabloid: "It’s a huge track and something everybody is incredibly excited about. It’s made for the club scene and a dance classic,”
“They’re thinking about a global launch for her next time around and everyone behind the scenes is very excited indeed. Calvin’s been wanting to work with Cheryl for ages and he’s thrilled it has finally happened.”
Her tune with Harris - who produced Rihanna's No.1 smash hit We Found Love - is also rumoured to be the first cut from her third album and is expected feature Chezza's manager and close pal, Will.I.Am.
The Black Eyed Peas star told The People newspaper: "I told Michael Cheryl was the hottest thing in the UK and he was keen to meet her. I was gonna write them a song."
