David Beckham To Launch Underwear Range

You’ll be able to buy Beckham branded boxers and briefs…

David Beckham is launching his own range of men’s underwear.

The footballer modelled Emporio Armani pants for four years and the partnership was extremely lucrative for both parties – Becks earned an estimated £20m while sales of Armani briefs are said to have risen by 30% while he was the face, or body, of the luxury label.

It’s thought David realised the potential for Beckham-branded undies after seeing the success of wife Victoria’s fashion ranges, particularly her dresses, which are a favourite of celebrities such Cameron Diaz, Dannii Minogue and Demi Moore.

A source close to the star said his own range was the next logical step for Brand Beckham. “The whole planet went nuts when David stripped off for his Armani ads. Sales went through the roof. It was decided not to renew the Armani contract and develop a business of David’s own. He has seen how fulfilling it has been for Victoria to branch out into business and relishes a similar challenge.”

The former England captain is being advised by his manager Simon Fuller and fashion designer Stella McCartney's husband Alasdhair Willis, who are said to be “focused on turning David into a major fashion presence”.

If the boxers and briefs sell well, Becks will reportedly follow up with male grooming products and moisturisers.
