EMAs: Tokio Hotel Win Best Group Win

The Germans win on their home turf…

The Best Group award has gone to Tokio Hotel at the MTV EMAs in Berlin.

The rockers are massive in Germany, where they’ve sold over 5 million records and scored tons of number ones.

Picking up the globe statue on stage singer Bill said: “Well thank you sooooo much. I really like every band of this category.”

Though fairly unknown in the UK they’ve previously picked up VMAs and won the Headliner award at the EMAs in Liverpool last year.

Earlier Tokio Hotel performed their hit The World Behind My Wall- which culminated in an explosive pyrotechnical display.

After the group collected their award from the Backstreet Boys, Leona Lewis hit the stage to play Happy with a stunning lazer backdrop.
