MTV are proud to announce the first two winners of our ‘What Would You Do For Music?’ competition, where we asked members of the British public to show their dedication to music by taking on exceptional and sensational personal challenges in a bid to win the hottest ticket of the year – passes to the star studded MTV 2011 EMA.
Whether it was head shaving, streaking down Oxford Street, or even auctioning their own Gran, you name it we heard it from the British public over the last few weeks.
Entrants were asked what they would be willing to do to get to the MTV 2011 EMA in Belfast on the 6th November.
Those selected will be treated to an incredible trip to Belfast to rub shoulders with the hottest music acts and watch performances from the likes of rock royalty the Red Hot Chili Peppers, global pop icon Lady Gaga, teen sensation Justin Bieber and chart topper Jessie J.
Lady Gaga inspired Jo Edwards (30) and Justin Bieber fanatic Sarah Burgoyne (24) won their seats for the 2011 MTV EMA by going to work in the iconic Lady Gaga meat dress (Jo), and tattooing the entire first verse of Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’ on her thigh (Sarah).
Reflecting on the bizarre challenge Jo Edwards commented “I have to say that this was one of the strangest days of my life. It’s not every day that you get onto a packed tube wearing 4kg of raw meat. I don’t know what my colleagues thought of me turning up to work in the meat dress. I will probably not hear the end of this for a while but who cares, I am off to Belfast!”
Sarah Burgoyne, fresh from the tattoo table said “When I first saw the competition on the MTV website I was desperate to win tickets to see Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga perform at the MTV 2011 EMA. There aren’t many Justin Bieber fans as dedicated as me and this tattoo goes to prove it. I can’t wait to go to Belfast on Sunday – my friends will be so jealous!”
Premiering November 6th at 9pm on MTV Channel 126 the 2011 MTV EMA will be hosted by teen idol Selena Gomez and will feature the best in live music entertainment from across the globe.
