Eminem has seemingly admitted that his last album Relapse was not up to his usual standards.
In new single Not Afraid- which leaked yesterday- he apparently agrees with criticisms that he used too many different- often whining- accents on his last album.
Shady raps: “To the fans, I never let you down again, I'm back/ I promise to never go back on that promise/ In fact, let's be honest/ That last Relapse CD was ehh/ Perhaps I ran them accents into the ground/ Relax, I ain't going to do that now.”
Not Afraid sees Eminem back on form and not relying on his comical Slim Shady persona.
In a new interview he also said his new album Recovery will not feature his trademark skits.
And he said of the disc: “There's a variety of different things, different moods and things like that on there. There's not just one overall sound. It's a bunch of different sh*t."
Jim Jonsin, Boi 1da, Dr. Dre and Just Blaze have all produced tracks for the album- which is set for release this June.
