Fergie Takes it to the Bridge

Congratulations to Black Eyed Peas lady Fergie " shes just bagged a No 1 on the Billboard charts with her first solo single, 'London Bridge'.

The track has also made a little bit of history " its the first time the English capitals been name-checked in a song to hit the US top spot.

However, we have just one little niggle " the video and CD cover shot feature the spunky singer posing in front of Tower Bridge, not London Bridge.

We were about to tell Fergie wed take her on a little sight-seeing tour to put her straight when she she hits these shores next week but, after a bit of digging we discovered the faux-pas was deliberate.

The vids director Mark Webb told MTV, The video's very lyrically driven using lots of imagery of London bridge which a lot of Americans think is Tower bridge.

So of course we incorporated a lot of Tower Bridge to perpetuate that myth.

A-ha. You little scamps...

London Bridge by Fergie is out in the UK on September 11.
