Metallica and Linkin park have been confirmed to headline Sonisphere Festival this year when it hits legendary rock venue, Knebworth House this August.
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich explained "We're stoked to be touring England and Europe with Sonisphere summer festivals in Europe are what Metallica do best. We can't wait to see all of our fans over there."
Sonisphere comes from the creators of the Monsters of Rock and Download Festivals, this year itll hit Holland, Germany, Spain, Sweden and Finland, ending its tour in the UK at Knebworth. Other massive acts include Slipknot and Die Toten Hosen.
Knebworth House is synonymous with live music and has been home to history-making from the worlds biggest rock and roll band The Rolling Stones to Rock Legends Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Genesis, Queen and Oasis, whos two shows made the biggest demand for concert tickets in British history.
The shows mark 35 years since the first ever Rock show at Knebworth and with Donington Parks traditional infield arena being dug up and converted into an F1 venue for the British Grand Prix, the centre of the UK rock universe is set to shift to Knebworth once again.
Tickets for the Knebworth shows go on sale at 9am Feb 11, other acts are to be confirmed within the next few weeks.
