The former Spice Girl is set to marry Italian yacht tycoon Fabrizio Politi after a seasonal proposal

Geri Halliwell has got engaged to her italian boyfriend Fabrizio Politi after he popped the question over Christmas.

After only a reported few weeks of dating, the millionaire proposed, presenting Geri with an engagement ring as a token of their commitment.

The news has been announced by Halliwells management company 19, which explains: "We are delighted to announce the engagement of Geri Halliwell and Fabrizio Politi."

Although the couple have taken their relationship to the next level, Geris management further explains: "There are no immediate plans for marriage as the couple are enjoying their engagement."

Geri who has a 2-year-old daughter with British Screenwriter Sacha Gervasi, has been linked in the past to Robbie Williams and Spice Girls backing dancer Ivan Flipz Velez.
