Girls Aloud are set to recruit a new member as part of an 'X-Factor' style reality TV show, according to reports in the Sunday Mirror.
The girls will follow The Pussycat Dolls into reality TV, to audition for a sixth member who will join them on stage for a live show, with a view to becoming a permanent member.
A source told the paper that the winner will get to perform with the group on stage during a one-off concert but the girls hope they'll be able to discover a hidden talent who could join the band as a fully paid-up member.
Girls Aloud formed in 2002 through another reality talent show Popstars: The Rivals.
'The girls have never forgotten that reality TV gave them their first break. Now they want to give someone else the chance' a source told the paper.
The show will be screened next year, and all five members of Girls Aloud on the judging panel.
