Kelis takes her New York beats to I Want My MTV Ibiza at Amnesia

MTV’s I Want My MTV Ibiza continued in fabulous fashion last Friday night, as Kelis brought her New York beats to Amnesia.

The White Isle super-club was warmed up in exuberant fashion by Riva Starr who dropped numerous club classics for the Balearic crowd who were clearly in a mood to party.

When the New York diva sauntered onto the stage showing off her inimitable style she did not disappoint. Resplendent with a blue-rinse headpiece and silver-sequined platforms she brought forth the glamour and party spirit the clubbers had flocked to Amnesia for.

Looking toned and terrific but despite suffering from a sore throat, the R&B star quickly informed the crowd that she “was here to party!” A statement the excited audience loudly agreed with.

With only a DJ and drummer on stage Kelis brought the beats that the suntanned masses had hoped for. Powering through a set that included stonewall classics like Acapalla, Milkshake and even a cheeky cover of Madonna’s Holiday got the holidaymakers and locals alike bouncing into the early hours.

The party did not stop even after the Kaleidoscope star waved goodbye to the euphoric crowd. Felix Da Housecat quickly took to the decks and belted out his much loved brand of electro-house to a crowd in full hedonistic swing. Kelis stayed to enjoy the night into the early hours partying with pal Usher.

As dawn cast its rays over the Party Isle and the throngs of clubbers headed to parties elsewhere, MTV work was done; for this week at least. There is still eight more fantastic I Want My MTV Ibiza nights to come. Promising to make this one memorable summer never to forget.
