Don't worry everyone, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West won't really be going to prison for recording that Taylor Swift phone call without her consent.

Why? Oh only because Kim is an actual real life genius.

Following reports that Kimye could face three years jail timefor sharing the now infamous video, it has been revealed that the KUWTK star new the exact legal implications before she even published it.

In a scene of the show filmed on February 18, 2016, Kim can be heard telling Kanye that it's not illegal to record someone without their knowledge, saying “not in New York, not in New York.”

This was in regards to that time Kanye was secretly recorded during quite the rant backstage at SNL when he mentioned Swift, which was inevitably leaked online.

So yeah, Kim is well aware of what she's doing at ALL TIMES.

We'd also like to point out that Kim sent the video of the phone call to her sisters way back in Feb to get their opinion on it, as explained in a scene filmed on February 16, 2016.

But obviously this is all just coming to light now, after Kim perfectly timed the release of the video with these specific episodes…
