Chat show queen Oprah Winfrey has branded James Blunt miserable.

Blunt was appearing on Oprahs show to sing Goodbye My Lover. Before his performance, he explained: Its a totally miserable song.

Oprah agreed, and mentioned his pain in her introduction, saying, Here, singing Goodbye My Lover " a totally miserable song " is James Blunt.

But the glum singer is having the last laugh - or at least a wry smile - he's the first Briton in nine years to top the US charts.
